From time to time users need access to old Outlook emails they saved to their local hard drives, but they don’t want to keep them visible in their Outlook profiles. They just want to take a quick look at it then close them back up. This quick tutorial shows how to view a .pst file through an Outlook profile. It will also show how to remove it from the navigation pane once you’re done with it. The tutorial is given using Outlook 2003 in an Exchange environment.
In Outlook 2003 go to File > Open > Outlook Data File
Find the .pst file you want to view and select it.
